Tayside Forestry has been in the business of growing Christmas trees for over 30 years. Gordon Hughes began growing the trees on a little 8 acre small holding in Glenshee. Over the years the business has grown dramatically to take account of the increasing demand for 'farm fresh' trees of the kind only produced to such a high standard in the hills and glens of Scotland. In due time Gordon's son Brian took over the running of the business and has developed it into the thriving concern that it is today doubling its output from 40,000 to 80,000 trees per year. This phenomenal growth now sees the business unrecognisable from its small beginnings, now a huge concern employing labour from throughout the UK and Europe to be able to cope with the growing demand for these well grown carefully produced and well presented trees.
